Which method should you use?
The Downloader method works for almost everyone and takes about five minutes. Use the USB method only if your TV can't reach Google Play (some region-locked boxes) or you already have the APK on a computer.
| Method | Needs | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downloader app + code | Just your remote | ~5 min | Nearly everyone |
| USB drive | A computer and a USB stick | ~10 min | Boxes without Google Play |
Method 1: Downloader app with code 1910890
Code: 1910890
Method 2: USB drive (manual sideload)
Android TV specific notes
HiTV doesn't appear on the home row
Android TV's home screen only promotes Play Store apps. Sideloaded apps live in the full app drawer: press the Apps button on your remote or the circle icon on the home screen. On some launchers you can add it manually with customize channels. If you want one-press access, apps like "Sideload Launcher" list every sideloaded app in a clean grid.
"App not installed" error
Usually a leftover from a previous HiTV install with a different signature (for example, switching between the official APK and the mod build). Uninstall the old copy under Settings → Apps first, then install fresh.
Remote navigation feels off inside the app
Make sure you installed the standard APK from code 1910890, which detects TV devices. If focus gets stuck somewhere, pressing back once usually resets it. Persistent problems are worth a mention through our contact page.
